Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole has returned to the UK after appearing on the Danish version of X Factor where she sang her solo single Fight For This Love. Although she managed to chat happily during her appearance on Friday she seemed to have a cold sore on her upper lip which may be a sign of underlying stress. As she walked through Heathrow she appeared to be covering her mouth with a scarf and trying to avoid the cameras. This week she is due to attend counselling sessions with her cheating husband Ashley.

Last week the singer confirmed that her marriage was in trouble following the revelations that Ashley had been sending nude images of himself as well as sex texts over his mobile phone to other women. The 29-year-old footballer is currently undergoing treatment in France for an injured ankle.

According to those close to the X Factor judge she is feeling the strain but is insisting that at the moment the couple are simply going through a trial separation. Cheryl is said to be trying to work out what she can do to move forward her relationship with her husband. At the moment reports are that divorce lawyers have not been consulted.

Whilst appearing on X Factor in Copenhagen the singer promised the audience that she would be attending the after show party but instead headed straight back to her hotel room. A source close to Ashley Cole has said that he is also not coping with the situation very well. His mother has flown out to offer moral support.
